Where to Host a Graduation Party

Want to plan an unforgettable graduation party for your grad? Graduation party venues can make a big impact on the overall tone of the celebration. Whether you're planning a big bash or intimate dinner, Hawaiian luau or traditional clambake, you'll find that there are many wonderful graduation party locations to consider for the occasion!
  • Banquet Hall: A banquet hall is a terrific option for a graduation party venue if you plan to have a lot of guests (more than 50). The rental fee for the hall typically includes the tables and chairs as well as set up and clean up. You can often make arrangements to bring in your own catering, decorations, etc. so you have freedom to decorate the party space as you wish.

  • Bar or Restaurant: A bar or restaurant is ideal if you plan to host a graduation party away from home. Often families travel to a graduation in another city/state and decide to celebrate with the graduate and their school friends. If you plan to host a graduation celebration at an area restaurant, plan to make a reservation well in advance of the event as there will be numerous other grad's making reservations for the same weekend. Also, if you expect to have a larger group (10-25), explore private rooms at the local restaurants or bars. Private rooms are great because you can have some privacy and decorate the space as you'd like, while still enjoying the food, drinks and service that a restaurant provides.

  • Park or Beach: Local parks and beaches make wonderful venues for graduation parties. Since most graduations occur during the spring, it's a great time to bring the party outdoors and host a luau, picnic, clambake, or cookout! Check with your local park or beach to see if you need a permit to host a party, visit the site to what type of seating is available (picnic tables, benches, etc.), and make arrangements for any other vendors you might need. Make the occasion extra special with catering to fit your party theme. Many caterers offer clambake packages that include lobster, clam chowder, corn on the cob, and all the fixings. Likewise, a Hawaiian catering option could work for your luau.
Once you figure out where you're going to hold your party, you can send free graduation invitations that include a map with directions to the graduation party venue.
