5 DIY Easter Party Favors

In addition to the standard Easter eggs to give away at your Easter celebration, it's also fun to make some Easter party favors for all the guests. If you're good with a glue gun and scissors, DIY Easter party favors are easy to whip out a day or so before the party. Adults and kids will love these Easter favors and they'll always have something sweet to remember what a wonderful time everyone had at your event. 

Gather a dozen eggs, acrylic paints, candle wicks and melting wax. Poke a small hole at either end of the eggs and blow gently into one hole until the inside comes out the other end. Do this to all eggs. At one end, crack the egg until there is a larger hole. Paint the eggs in whatever Easter designs and colors you want. Melt the wax according to the instructions. Place each egg in a cupcake tin or egg cup so they are upright. Hold the wick in the egg and slowly pour the wax mixture into the egg until about a 1/4 inch from the top and hold the wick until the wax begins to harden. Cut the wick so that it's about a 1/2 inch from the top of the egg. Wrap in tissue paper and give away. Guests can burn them by setting them into candlesticks or egg cups so they are upright. 

You’ll need a child-size headband and 11⁄2 yards of 1⁄2-inch-wide double- fold bias tape in a fun pattern (found at any fabric store). 
 
First, cut an 181⁄2- inch-long piece of the tape. Hem the cut ends at a 1⁄2 inch on each side, then stitch together the long side. Fold the tape in half so that the ends touch and use a straight pin to mark the fold’s center. Feed an extra-thick, 12-inch-long pipe cleaner through one end of the tape, stopping at the pin. Feed a second pipe cleaner through the casing’s other end until it, too, meets the pin and then remove the pin. Bring the tape's open ends toward each other and twist the exposed pipe cleaners together to form a rabbit ear shape. Repeat steps one and two to make a second ear.

Cut a piece of bias tape the length of the headband, plus an extra inch. Wrap the tape over the headband, then use pins to mark the two spots where you want to attach the ears. Remove the tape from the headband and stitch the long side together, from the pins out to both ends of the tape. Then stitch the ends closed and remove the pins. Twist the ears’ pipe-cleaner ends around the headband in the desired spots, then slide each end of the headband into the tape. Use a needle and thread to slip-stitch the tape around and between the ears closed.

Styrofoam Easter Eggs
For this Easter favor, you'll need Styrofoam eggs, beads, ribbon, lace, sequins, paint, markers, glitter, glue, straight pins, and scissors. Decorate the eggs and cut a small piece of ribbon and use a straight pin to secure it to the top of the eggs. Once everything has dried, guests can pick an egg and bring it home to hang on an indoor plant or tree as cute Easter decorations!


Colorful Napkin Rings

This Easter favor is pretty and sweet! String jellybeans on thick gauge wire and twist around silverware wrapped in a linen napkin. Twist the ends of the wire once you've reached your desired wrapping length and cut the wire at each end. Let each guest take the rings home with them.

Mini Potted Succulents
You'll need mini flower pots, a variety of succulents (purchased at hardware stores or grocery stores), potting soil and blackboard stickers (found at office supply stores). Carefully pot one or two little succulents in each pot using a healthy amount of potting soil. Water and set aside until the water has drained. Place a sticker on each pot and write each guest's name on it. Succulents are easy to take care of and are a green reminder of spring!
